Welcome to my creative corner! I'm Diana, and I'm thrilled to share my passion for sewing and wool appliqué embroidery with you. I specialize in creating project kits and on-demand sewing classes designed for use with a sewing machine, perfect for those who want to learn how to sew and increase their sewing skills. Additionally, I craft wool appliqué embroidery hand sewing kits, ideal for those who want to practice embroidery stitches with wool.
My Workshop
Welcome to appliqué with the much beloved classic - SunBonnet Sue! Use fusible web to create a raw edge appliqué pillow. Incorporate some heavy weight thread for quilting and/or embellish with a small bit of embroidery to make your design pop. Along the way, learn about various types of fusible web, working with fusible fleece for pillow structure and durability, and how different size threads can change the look and add dimension to your project. In this project I use a regular sewing thread, a 12 weight thread for quilting, and a 5 weight thread for an extra hand stitched embellishment. Follow along for a step by step breakdown of each stage in the process from tracing/printing shapes onto fusible, preparing a quilted background, different stitches for raw edge appliqué, and using perle cotton embroidery thread to add some final touches. Finish your project with an envelope style back and a pre-form pillow.
