I’m a quilt instructor, maker, designer and author. I love all things FPP and improv. I’m hooked on Cherrywood hand-dyed fabric. I was editor of Quilters Newsletter magazine and the SAQA Journal, and I’m author of Pagtinabangay: The Quilts and Quiltmakers of Caohagan Island, which shares the story of quiltmaking on a 13-acre island in the central Philippines. My articles and pattern and block designs have been published in numerous quilt magazines.
I’ve taught at International Quilt Festival in Houston and for the American Quilter’s Society, guilds and shops across the United States and beyond. My quilts have been exhibited at Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum and as part of an American Quilt Study Group traveling exhibition.
I live at 9,200 feet in the Rocky Mountains in Gilpin County, Colorado. I teach in person and offer open enrollment classes via zoom. For information, see www.danajonesquilts.com.
My Workshop
Â
This workshop will share highlights of my popular six-hour class in which I teach you how to design for foundation paper piecing. You'll meet the Paper Police, who will become your constant companions as you learn to create foundations for everything from traditional blocks to pictorial quilts. It'll be a quick romp during which you'll see my step-by-step process for creating my Bird on a Branch quilt.
Don't forget that you can find my supply list, along with those for all the other workshops, by clicking the button below.
